John Rosans, 76, of Sila Drive died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at his residence. Born Janis Rosans on June 20, 1939 in Latvia, he was the son of the late Janis and Erna Kaepejs Rosans. A Veteran of the United States Air Force from 1961-1963. He was employed from 1979-2000 as a Math Teacher at Onteora High School. His hobbies included, gardening, fishing and bee keeping. John belonged to the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church of Schenectady. Survivors include his wife Mirdza “Mitzi” Rosans with whom he recently celebrated their 44th Wedding Anniversary. One daughter: Erika of Kingston, one son: John Arthur and his wife, Lesley-Ann of Arlington, Va., one sister: Rita Golts of St. Augustine, Fla., two grandchildren: Adrian and Trey of Kingston. His Funeral Service will be held 12 p.m. Friday at the Seamon-Wilsey Funeral Home, Inc., corner of John & Lafayette Sts., Saugerties; with the Rev. Laris Salins of the Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church of Long Island officiating.
